Every Garden has a Story
Tucked away within Tacoma, Washington, The Street Court Garden is a small urban flower farm dedicated to growing seasonal blooms. Every stem that leaves The Street Court Garden reflects our dedication to growing with care, purpose, and deep respect for our community.
Meet the Grower
Hi, I’m Sarah Black—founder, grower, and hands-in-the-soil heart behind The Street Court Garden.
After over a decade of gardening, I started this flower garden in NE Tacoma with a simple vision: to grow beautiful, seasonal flowers that bring joy, connection, and life to the neighborhood around me. While I work full-time as a Clinical Scientist in the biotech world, my dream is to one day retire into the rhythm of the garden, where beauty grows slowly, and everything has a season.
Rooted in Purpose
Most of our flowers start from seed, tuber, or corm, and are carefully tended by hand—no big machinery, no cutting corners. Just a deep love for growing and a commitment to doing it with intention.
I’m always learning, experimenting, and trying to grow better, both as a gardener and a neighbor. Whether you're here for fresh-cut flowers, a seasonal wreath, or a garden-grown bouquet for your kitchen table, I’m so glad you’ve found your way here.
Wild Growing Spaces
Our growing spaces are small but mighty, each with its own personality.
The Street Court Original | Our home garden and the root of it all
The Allotment | A 9-bed community garden plot where veggies and flowers grow side by side
The Perennial Place | A neighbor’s half-acre haven filled with mature perennials and possibility.
Together, these spaces form the heart of The Street Court Garden, a patchwork of community, color, and care.
Shared in Community
When you buy from The Street Court Garden, you're doing more than bringing flowers home. You’re investing in local agriculture, supporting sustainable practices, and helping a small urban farm thrive.
You’re supporting the quiet, steady work of local agriculture and helping seasonal beauty ripple through our community.
It’s early mornings, weather-worn hands, and a wholehearted commitment to cultivating something meaningful.
These flowers aren’t just shared. They’re hard-earned, intentionally grown, and filled with heart.
